Mabon

Fall in WisconsinWhat is Mabon to me? This is Osci speaking and I want to share my feelings about what the Autumn Equinox means to my heart and my walk and path.

Mabon is the second harvest festival for Pagans. Many of the crops are being harvested at this time and we are enjoying the fruit from the labors of the spring and summer. This is represented by the God dying back to the land. The Goddess is resting in her fruitfulness. We are blessed with abundance and joy and sharing. It is a blessed thanksgiving time to be with friends, make a toast all around and just be together. Yes…it is a time for giving thanks to everything in our lives that bless us.

It is also a time of balance. The autumn equinox marks a time when day and night are equal. Internally this is a great time to work within ourselves and honor both our light and shadow sides. It is a time of harvesting our own seeds of the year, reflecting and begin storing up for the months ahead.

Most importantly…for Yarrow Coven…we share this time together with our annual Mabon festival. A full weekend of hanging out, drumming, giving thanks and most importantly…connecting and finding our balance once again with nature.

Happy Mabon to you

May you always find that which you seek…and always be blessed

Oscianna
