Sarjenka Moonchild
My journey towards finally having a spiritual home however began 14 years ago when I first began to read about Wicca and Witchcraft. At times I did not think I would ever find a place where I fit in or belonged but I have found just that, in the pagan community here in St. Louis and for that I am very grateful. In return I am putting in my time working to give back to the community that has accepted and befriended a lifelong misfit and outcast, by volunteering on both the Pagan Picnic Committee and the St. Louis Witches Ball Committee. I have found working with a team of people to make an event, that is so much fun and so meaningful to so many, a success to be very rewarding. While the work can be frustrating the sense of accomplishment is well worth the time.
I am a mother of one, and have two dogs, one fat cat, and two turtles at home that I love and care for. My time, which is spent working in local psychologist’s office as the back office staff or taking care of my home and family or on the aforementioned committees; I spend on a myriad of hobbies and studies. I am actively studying my craft, which I have much to learn about, and attend a local study group every other Friday. I also LOVE music. I love to listen to it with headphones and concentrate on every sound, or turn it up loud and dance around my house and sing. I love concerts and dance clubs and mosh pits and drum circles. Music is a major part of who I am and one of the great sources of joy in my life. I also love to read, to discuss ideas and debate and talk for hours with my friends. I could go on and on about the many things I love, because there is so much beauty in life and in love and in the world, and so many things that are amazing if you take the time to see, but I will try to limit myself to the scope of this biography.
My path is eclectic Wicca. I draw from anything that feels right; much of it comes from Buddhism and traditional European Witchcraft. However my special interest and abiding love is for Techno shamanism. In the rave subculture, which I barely scratched the surface of years ago, I discovered the intense effect that light, sound, and dance can have upon me. The profound influence the mindset and trance inducing effects had on me was truly the time when my interest in spirituality changed into a decision that I wanted to live a life where I could appreciate and tap into the divine.
