Online Open Full Moon Rituals
Yarrow
Coven was the sponser of a Yahoo Groups listserve called the
"Cauldron of Yarrow". The listserve served as a place for fellowship
among Pagans who are friends and family of Yarrow Coven. The list
started out with only a few folks discussing various topics and has
swelled to 150+ members. As we continued to grow and learn from one
another, we started to have online open full moon rituals for our
members.
So how do we perform an ONLINE ritual? It is
actually very simple. Imagine writing a book in third person. We begin
with a setting for the ritual. Then we decide who will be Priestess,
Priest, who will call quarters and so on. We each individually write
our own parts and then the night of the ritual, we post them to the
list all in order. We then open it up for petitions or prayers from all
of the members to take part. After a certain amount of time, we then
close the circle. The entire ritual is generally written in a very
descriptive manner so that we each feel as if we are standing in cirlce
with one another at that very moment.
Although it may
sound impersonal, our rituals are actually very beautiful and have
wonderful results for many of us participating. They offer a form of
community and fellowship for those folks who may not be able to make it
to the St. Louis or local Open Full Moons or who are otherwise solitary
and do not work within a group. And even more valuable to some, is the
opportunity to actually DO something rather than read about it. Writing
a quarter call or a small part in an online ritual offers everyone an
opportunity to take part without the fear that some feel in front of
others. If anything, it offers a start or a beginning......
We
hope that you enjoy these rituals as we have written them from our
hearts. They are free for your use as you please, however, please do not
post these on other websites or handouts or otherwise reproduce/distribute unless otherwise given
permission by the coven. Thank you.
